I was in a friend zone for over a year before I pulled my self together and just told her that I wanted her. I dont think this is the best method, I think action speaks louder than words, but I was lucky. She were at least willing to try and within a week she was hooked!

Usually saying that only works if she is somehow interested. You probably won't create any attraction by saying it. But if it got it got you out from the friendzone it worked :-) Congrats!
